Master Class
The Smart Body Program team is happy to present the first Master class, 27th April 2014.
- Kinetic Awareness®
Kinetic Awareness® works directly with the (physical) sense of self. There are no expectations from the outside.
In the first phase, we observe one body-part at a time, moving it very slowly and with minimum effort.
We can repeat this with rubber balls of different sizes that are placed underneath or close to the body part.
This way provides a greater range of direction, and additionally creates a deep, self-directed massage.
Often we find that we are holding muscles in ongoing contraction ("frozen tension")
Because of the careful and respectful listening and moving, plus the massage from the rubber balls, it can be possible to resolve such blockades and regain an often unexpected freedom and ease in movement.
In later phases, we explore coordination (moving more than one body part at a time) levels of speed and intentional use of tension, and finally how to relate to our environment of other movers, without losing ourselves.
In this workshop we will work with the basics of Kinetic Awareness® as a group of individuals.
Every participant will get the space to work on a personal movement question that they have. This can be shared with the group if the participant decides to do so.
Additional information about human anatomy and discussions will complete the highly empowering and meaningful process.
